For New Breeders: Puppy Pack Ideas

Puppy packs is commonly one of those things that varies between one breeder to the next. Each breeder has their specific set of items that are included.

Some people are limited by what their flight nanny can take on the flight, so be aware that the majority of your puppy pack may have to be mailed to the new owner’s home several days in advance of the puppy flying out in order for the new owners to receive before puppy gets there.

Here are some general items that are often included in puppy packs:

  • Puppy documentation:

    • Embark DNA Certificates

    • Parents pedigree trees

    • APKC Litter Registration information

    • Pictures from birth - 8 wks (most owners like whole litter picture as well)

  • Copy of the signed Puppy Contract

  • Copy of the Puppy Receipt

  • Copy of the Vet Records

    • Vaccination records

    • Deworming schedule (date and med type)

    • Any fecal tests

  • Puppy Care Information

    • Potty training guide

    • Crate training guide

    • Puppy training resources

    • Food & treat choices guide

    • Parvo warnings/precautions

  • Large Food sample for transition

  • Pet Insurance suggestions

  • Supplements/Vitamins

  • Blanket or stuffie with mom and littermates’ smell on it

  • Safe puppy chews (no rawhide!)

  • Safe puppy toys

  • Any kennel specific swag

Flight Nanny Required Supplies: They need Health Certificate and puppy info, small baggie of dog food, roll of poo bags, 2-3 pee pads, and a chew or blanket with littermate scent.
